Age Groups
What age groups are there?
- Under 8 (7-8 yrs)
- Under 10 (9 - 10 yrs)
- Under 12 (11 - 12 yrs)
- Under 14 (13 - 14 yrs)
- Under 16 (15 - 16 yrs)
- Adult Division (17 yrs and over) with 5 Adult Tiers
League Season
How many nights are played per week?
Teams play 2 nights per week with the occasional Sunday.
How long does the season run?
The season runs April 19 - June 30, 2010.
Registration
How can I register?
You can register as an individual, group or team (see League Registration).
What forms of payment are accepted?
The league accepts cheques, cash, Visa, Mastercard and money order. Post dated cheques will not be accepted.

After Registering
Youth Teams
Players will be notified of their team placement, Player Orientation time and location by April 5, either by their Coach or by the League Office. Team lists and the orientation schedule will be posted on the website when it is available. The Player Orientation provides players with a one hour practice to meet their coach and teammates, receive their jersey and league schedule. (see Player Orientation )
Adult League
If you sign up as an individual, you will attend 2 evaluation sessions, TBA. After this evaluation, you will be placed on a team for the season.
Tryouts and Seeding
Are there league tryouts?
There are no league tryouts for the house league. Participants can sign up as a team, as a group, or as an individual. Players not registering as a team will be placed on teams prior to the start of the season based on the experience information provided on the registration form.
Are teams seeded?
Teams will play a seeding round to determine which division they will be placed in. They will be seeded further mid-season and then again for the playoffs.
How are Teams Made?
Youth League

Practices
Are there practices?
There is one scheduled league practice for Youth teams set up at the beginning of the season (see Player Orientation).
Youth and Adult teams may decide to schedule their own practices during the season (arrangements and floor time is paid by the team).
Equipment
What equipment is mandatory?

What equipment is optional?
Neck guards are optional (neck guards for goalies are mandatory), and shoulder pads are optional (no body checking is allowed). (see League Equipment)
Can I wear hockey pants and socks?
Yes, but they can be hot. We recommend inline girdles and inline pants because they are made with light weight and breathable material.
Where can I purchase inline gear?
You can purchase inline pants, inline girdles, wheels and bearings from the Calgary Roller Hockey League (see Store).
What can you tell me about wheels?
All wheels have two numbers on them: the size in millimeters and the hardness rating which is from 72A to 82A. The LOWER the rating number, the softer the wheel. The HIGHER the rating number, the harder the wheel (see League Equipment for more).
